My Lightroom Preset!

The question I get the most on Instagram is:

“What preset or filter do you use?”

It has taken me quite a while to figure out how I like my photos. When I first joined Instagram in 2012, I went crazy with those built in filters. I didn’t know what I was doing, it was 2012, who did? As my feed became closer to what it is now, I realized I like cool tones, bright whites and virtually no color. (Hence my blog name The Neutral Concept.) Actually, it wasn’t until two years after i started my blog that I changed my name from my personal account to @theneutralconcept. It took that long to really figure out what I want to accomplish with my Instagram.

The filter is a HUGE part of that!

When I first started actually editing my photos to what I liked, I just used Photoshop. In Photoshop, you can open the Camera RAW filter and play with the saturation of specific colors. I would always take out all of the yellow and green, leaving only cool tones. I of course could crop, smooth skin, whiten teeth, with either Photoshop or the other app that I use, FaceTune.
